"Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Heb 10:22 NKJV
As this verse was spoken this morning, I saw a heart being sprinkled with the blood of Jesus to remove the consciousness of sin. When the red blood hit the heart, it turned white and began to expand until the heart eventually was solid white. This painting is the middle of that process when the blood has been sprinkled and is beginning to expand.
I believe the red heart represents our dependence on our natural strength and goodness; we don't have to be living a life of blatant sin to need the blood of Jesus. As we simply humble ourselves and turn to Him in recognition of His Lordship, His blood is immediately applied to the deepest core of who we are, and we are made ready to enter His presence.
When we become more aware of God and turn away from our natural ways and mindsets, our lives become a pure example of His love. May we learn to ever have a God-consciousness that compels us to always trust and depend on His strength, walk with Him daily, and reflect His glory.
